FAQ

  1. Is experience on a synchronized skating team necessary to join the Fond du Lac Blades?  No. Synchro experience, while helpful is not required to be on a Blades team.  Synchro demands skaters with strong individual skating skills – especially levels judged under the IJS.

  2. When are try outs? Tryouts are held annually in the spring.  Tryouts this year are April 18th, 19th and May 3rd.

  3. Will I have to leave my home club in order to join the Fondy Blades? No – not any longer.  Skaters are encouraged to retain their home club memberships while skating for the Blades!  All team members must have a current home club membership.  Team members who are not home club members of Fond du Lac Blue Line FS, must join as “Synchro Only” members at a reduced rate.

  4. What is required of a “Synchro Only” member?  At registration, Synchro Only members are required to pay the Associate Member fee (currently $50), register and pay ice fees for their respective team practice time at the Blue Line Family Ice Center.  In addition, Synchro Only members are required to work 10 hours for the FOOT OF THE LAKE our annual synchronized skating competition.

  5. How do I pay for skating on the Blades?  An annual budget is created for each team.  Payments are made on a monthly basis from June to January.

  6. Where do the Blades practice?  Currently, the Blades practice in Fond du Lac at the Blue Line Family Ice Center and in Oshkosh at the YMCA.
